We are aware, and we care…
At Lagas Aegean Village we try our best to be in accordance with measures and practices that help safeguard our natural and human environment, but also our local community here on Kos Island.
We aim to sustain Greek traditional culture, values & hospitality by creating long-lasting constructive and successful synergies with local suppliers, companies, farmers and markets.
- Solar energy water heating
- Energy saving light bulbs - LED technology (Light-Emitting Diode)
- Electric card keys for guest rooms which activate and deactivate electricity, thus preserving electricity consumption
- The hotel has its' own sewage and waste water treatment plant on site. Treated waste water from here is collected to irrigate and preserve the hotel's trees and plantations, only via a drip irrigation system
- Recycling of paper, glass, plastic and aluminum tin (Certified by the Hellenic Recovery Recycling Corporation as an Active Member)
- Cleaning agents and chemicals are environmentally accredited.
- Used cooking oils are gathered and then collected by a local company accredited with the Renewable Energy Directive for the collection and ecological disposal of them.
- Returning reusable packaging
- Massage oils with bio-active ingredients
- Local fresh produce (vegetables, fruits) from local farmers and yogurt from a local producer are delivered daily
- Products from Kos and other regions from Greece are promoted in our bars, mini-market and shops. Such as Olive Oil, Olives, Masticha, Ouzo, Tsipouro, Honey, Wine and beauty products
- Used plastic bottle caps are collected from staff and guests in order to support the “Paraplegic & Disabled people’s association of Pella”. This association collects plastic bottle caps which go toward acquiring wheelchairs for person’s that do not have the ability to purchase their own.

These may be subject to change as we always strictly follow what the WHO and Greek Government instructs us to do.
- Social distancing between guests and staff
- All members of staff wear face masks
- Rooms that are vacated by guests because of departure to return home are sterilized with a steam cleaner and left to air for at least 4 hours before the next guests check-in.
- Guests are advised to always have an open window in their room. Also, the A/C works with open windows now and guests are advised to keep a window open when the A/C is on.
- The restaurant is still in a buffet form but guests are requested to wear a face mask when selecting their food from the buffet. Guests are provided with antiseptic and one use gloves in order to handle the utensils.
- Guests must wear a face mask when using the hotel mini-busses
- Guests must wear a face mask in all indoor areas. (In bars and restaurants a face mask is required and may be removed only when seated at a table.)
- There are hand sanitizers around the hotel and guests are advised to wash and sanitize their hands as often as possible.
- Sunbeds on the beach and around the pool are situated with required distances apart.
- When required PCR and Rapid / Antigen tests may be performed at the hotel by a medical professional at a fee.
